2008

	Tsunami commemoration and New Year blessing event was held in January to remind the victims of the Tsunami and also to thank the supporters of Tisarana and Norwegian Buddhist federation. A photo exhibition of Tisarana/ NBF Tsunami housing project was arranged by the president of Norwegian Buddhist Federation. Association was registered in the Norwegian Center for Register Authority and Source of Information. (Bronnoysund register) on the 18th march 2008. NBF / Tisarana Tsunami Housing project was successfully completed and the building was inaugurated on the Saturday 24th May at the presence of all members of Tsunami Relief committee. The flats were given to eight needy families who still lived in temporary tents. Vesak & Poson 2008 & Tisarana15th anniversary was celebrated in June at Wat Thai temple in Oslo. The occasion was conducted under the guidance of Ven. Sri Kulugammana Sri Dharmarakshita Thero, Principal, Sri Sangharaaja Maha Pirivena, in Kandy A delegation from Sri Lanka attended to the Ceremony and few important steps were taken in order to establish a presentable Sri Lankan Buddhist temple in Norway President of Tisarana Ms. Nirmala Eidsgård was appointed to be a member of the Secretariat of the Norwegian Buddhist Federation in august 2008. In September 2008 a fundraising campaign was initiated in Sri Lanka

2007

	In January Tisarana commenced a campaign for recruiting new members and it result thirty new members and it is about a 20% enhancement and a remarkable victory because the number of Sri Lankan Buddhist in Norway is less than three hundred. Annual General meeting was held in April 2007. A new executive committee was appointed. The event was combined with the celebration of the awarding the title of Chief Prelate (Sangha Nayake) of Scandinavia, to Ven. Kirindigalle Shri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thero. Ven. Dhammaratana also was appointed to be the advisor (Anushasaka) of Tisarana. The necessary arrangements were done to change the constitution of the association in order to get the association registered in the Norwegian Center for Register Authority and source of information. (Brønnøysund register). The revised constitution was approved by the extra ordinary AGM on the 2nd December 2007.

Tsunami relief works in Sri Lanka

After the Tsunami disaster in South Asia in December 2004 the Buddhist Federation of Norway (BFN) started a fundraising campaign among Buddhists and other people in Norway.
